ANC participates in Helmepa / USCG meeting in Washington, DC.21/11/2017
On 21 November, the 5th consecutive annual meeting of representatives of 7 HELMEPA companies with the Prevention Policy Sector of the United States Coast Guard, at their Headquarters in Washington D.C.
The meeting took place in a friendly and constructive atmosphere and was chaired by the head of the Sector, RADM John P. Nadeau, Assistant Commandant, who was escorted by competent officers, responsible for the following issues of the agenda: Ballast Water Management, Cyber Security, Aqueacy of Shore reception Facilities/Managment of Sewage and Garbage, Qualship21, Inspections towards issuing COC, Biofouling and Navigation issues in Us waters. The member Companies and their representatives were: Ariston Navigation Corp., Mr Christos Georgousopoulos Carras(Hellas) S.A., Mr Spiros Vlachos Costamare Shipping company S.A., Mr Ioannis Drakogiannopoulos Diana Shipping Services S.A., Mr Michael Gavriil Euronav Ship Management Hellas Ltd., Mr Pantelis Patsoulis S. Livanos - Hellas S.A., Mr Michail Fragkias Tsakos Columbia Shipmanagement(TCM) S.A., Mr Andreas Zarvanelis Present in the meeting were also HELMEPA'S Director General and two staff members of the Secretariat. During the meeting, the American officers emphasised that the USCG appreciates, in any case, a timely and sincere report of the Master and the company to the Captain of the Port (COTP) of any problem experienced onboard the vessel while en route to the U.S port. The reason is that, if and when necessary, the quick encountering of difficult situations is facilitated and serious consequences and high cost are avoided. |
