M/V Abyssinian participates in "Adopt a ship" for 2022

How it works:
A ship is assigned to a school classrom (4th, 5th, or 6th grades). There is direct email communication with the vessel, captain and crew in order to understand and learn daily duties, activities, routes  and operation of the ship. 

The program builds awareness about the Seafarers' life at sea and it is designed to influence young people to seek careers in the Shipping Industry either at Shore or Sea by increasing empathy for the seafarfer.

The Ship:
The M/V Abyssinian was adopted by the 6th Grade of the 1st Primary School of Vari.

The students below had the opportunity to communicate in real time with the vessel and participate in a succesfull  completion of an operational  voyage with the ship. 

Message from the Students:

Dear Capt.Herdoni Azul Garrido,

Occasioned by our live conversation with you and members of the crew 
of M/V Abyssinian, under the presence and coordination of ANC Crew Manager, Mr 
Katsivardelos Panagiotis, who visited our school and shared his 
knowledge with us, we would like to thank you for the opportunity we 
were given to participate in "Adopt a Ship" programme and share with 
you this adventure.

"Travelling" with Abyssinian became a very pleasant experience of our 
school life that we will always remember!

We wish you safe voyages and calm seas and we are looking forward to 
adopting your ship in the near future (next school year) with a new 
group of students.
